Additional €10m for Respite Care Services

Minister McGrath secures an additional €10 million for respite care service. 12 December 2017 Minister of State with special responsibility for Disability Issues, Finian McGrath TD, today (12th December 2017) announced the securing of an additional €10 million for respite care. €8 million will provide for nine new dedicated houses for respite in each Community Health Area plus an additional three houses in the greater Dublin area to respond to the very high demand for respite from this part of the country. Public Consultation on Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards now open

Ministers Harris and McGrath announce opening of a Public Consultation on Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Minister for Health, Simon Harris, TD, and Minister of State for Disability Issues, Finian McGrath, TD, today announced the opening of a public consultation on draft legislation relating to deprivation of liberty. Statement by Minister McGrath on Ratification of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities 03 December 2017 The Minister for Disabilities,  Finian  McGrath  TD,  announced today on International Day of Persons with Disabilities that he will submit draft legislation to Government next week (Tuesday 5 December) which is a very significant milestone in Ireland’s process for ratifying the UN Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities.
