The Minister of State with Special Responsibility for Disabilities, Finian McGrath TD, is pleased to recognise Wednesday 21st March as World Down Syndrome Day. World Down Syndrome Day is a global awareness day which has been celebrated all over the world since 2006. Ratification of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

  The Minister of State for Disability Issues, Finian McGrath T.D., today welcomed the decision of Dáil Éireann to approve the terms of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD) “Today marks a key moment, not only for people living with a disability, but also for their families, friends and support networks and for Irish society generally.
