Minister McGrath launches the report of the Task Force on Personalised Budgets

Minister McGrath today published the Report of the Task Force on Personalised Budgets "Towards Personalised Budgets for People with a Disability in Ireland". The report sets out how personalised budgets could work as a funding mechanism for people with a disability, providing them with greater choice and control over the services and supports they receive. 14,000 Additional Carers to Receive Free GP Care

The Minister for Health, Simon Harris and the Minister of State for Disabilities, Finian McGrath have today (Thursday) welcomed the fact that following the passing of the Health (General Practitioner Service) Bill 2018 last night 14,000 additional Carers are now to receive Free GP Care. The Bill means that those in receipt of either full or half rate Carer’s Allowance or Carer’s Benefit will be automatically eligible for a GP service free of charge. €14million approved under the Disabled Persons Grant Scheme

Finian McGrath announces approval of €14million under the Disabled Persons Grant Scheme Minister for Disabilities, Finian McGrath today announced funding of €14m to help elderly people and those with disabilities continue living in the comfort of their own homes. This marks a €2m increase on the funding that was allocated in 2017.
