CITY MANAGER’S REPLY Under the current Road Traffic Acts there are no “Reduce Speed” signs. Dublin City Council does not recommend ‘Children at Play’ sign because they are not regarded to be effective in changing the behaviour of drivers on the road or reducing speeds.
However, if residents wish it and are willing to pay the cost involved, the Council will consider providing ‘Caution Children’ signs. If residents wish to proceed, they should make arrangements with the Traffic Administration Section, telephone 2222251.
