Finian is constantly supporting and pushing for the implementation of this plan. A planning application was lodged for the development of Northside Town Centre on 1st November 2007; additional information requested was lodged on 14th March 2008. A decision by the planning authority is expected by mid-May 2008. It is anticipated that building works will occur in two phases commencing in spring 2009
Phase 1
· Demolition health centre, community buildings, warehousing units on new shopping centre site and Cromcastle court complex.
· Construction of 525 no. housing units, including 30 sheltered units at Woodville House.
· New Retail Centre
· Medical Centre
· Pool & Leisure/Fitness Centre
· Sports Centre
· Library
· Kilmore West Community Facility
· Pigeon Club
· Road & Transport infrastructure improvement
Phase 11
· Demolition of existing shopping centre
· Construction of 400 housing units
· New Northside High Street retail
· Cinema & Family Entertainment
· Office Tower
· Realignment of Clonshaugh Road
· Completion of Northside Tow Centre Plaza.
