Thursday, 12 February 2009 00:49

Below is a letter from Independent Candidate Damian O'Farrell who will be running in the upcoming June local elections.

"I am writing this short note to let you know that I have been selected to stand as the Independent Candidate at the forthcoming local elections in June '09, with the full endorsement and support of Finian McGrath T.D.

Damian O'Farrell - The Clontarf Ward of Dublin City CouncilI am preparing official information brochures including details on issues, a personal profile and photographs and a copy will be distributed to you shortly. Before the official launch of my campaign and as a courtesy, I have included a short personal profile below which I would be very obliged if you take the time to read.

The main issues that i am interested in, and will be focussing on, are people and the community - to include crime, education, senior citizens, environment, health and disability services. We are entering into a period of recession and vital services, which should have been improved during the Celtic Tiger years, were not improved. It is now so important that a message is sent to all the political parties and in particular the government parties that scarce resources should be put to best use.

As I mentioned, I am particularly interested in people and community and I believe our area is a great place to live. I will be knocking on doors in your locality shortly as I am very interested in meeeting you and listening to your thoughts, views and ideas.

Please feel free to use my contact details below to contact me at any time.

I wish you all the best.
"

Kind Regards,

Damian O'Farrell
Independent Candidate
