The issue of surrogacy is a cross Departmental one involving the Departments of Justice and Equality, Foreign Affairs and Trade and Health as well as my own Department.   In  respect of the specific matter raised I have been informed by the Department of Foreign Affairs that, as this matter is currently before the courts, it would be inappropriate  to discuss the case further at this time.
