Speeding through Whitethorn Road, Crescent, Park, Avenue, Grove, Close and Rise, Dublin 5. Can anything be done before someone is hurt or killed

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 32 to raise a matter of national importance and concern, namely, the urgent need for the Government to establish a new institutionally independent child death review mechanism to ensure that vulnerable children living in State care get the protection they deserve, and call on the Government to support the Ombudsman for Children, Ms Emily Logan, on this matter and other child protection-related issues.

To ask the Minister for Foreign Affairs if his attention has been drawn to the fact that of the 135 members of the Columbian Congress under investigation for corruption 50 of these are in prison and have close links to right wing paramilitaries and if Ireland's Foreign Policy on Columbia needs to be updated.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your intervention in relation to funding for ones PET Scan in the Mater Hospital in August 2009.
