Deputy Finian McGrath has come out strongly in favour of Community Employment workers in the run-up to the budget. He met a delegation in the Dail today, Tuesday 24th at 3.00 p.m. and said he would fight any cuts to welfare payment such as the one parent family allowance and the Disability Allowance for C.E. participants.

"This will have major implications for access to schemes and the deliver of valued services in our communities" said McGrath.

"This Government bailed out the banks. Now Its time to bail out our C.E. workers. 9,000 jobs are at risk" added Finian.
