Deputy Finian McGrath (Ind) has strongly attacked the Government and Brendan Drumm (HSE) for the delay in funding the proposed National Centre for Cystric Fibrosis at St. Vincent’s Hospital. “It is criminal and C.F. patients cannot waiting till 2011” said the Northside T.D. “Despite any downturn there are always priority issues and this is one" added McGrath
Finian also said that he was furious about this decision and had already put in a request for an adjournment debate this week in the Dail. McGrath hopes it will be called on Tuesday as this is an urgent issue.
Deputy McGrath also said that he was particularly angry as he put forward proposals for funding in the Dail this week and he had urged the Government to listen. However, Deputy McGrath has said that he will continue to fight for 1,135 cystic fibrosis patients in this country.
