Deputy Finian McGrath has called on the 130 Independent Councillors throughout the country to hold their nerves and stand firm on offers from the big political parties.
“You got elected as an Independent and you should stay that way”, said the Independent Dublin North Central T.D.
“You should respect your mandate from the people and also stay true to democratic values.  Nationally Independents are running at 10% in the Polls which is up by 4 points since the last Election.

A large section of the population are fed up with party politics and want people to stand up for what they believe in”, said McGrath.
Independents can stick together and deliver for our citizens.
