McGrath hits back at critics on Dáil votes

Deputy Finian McGrath has strongly challenged his critics following his recent Dáil votes.  Those throwing stones should not forget they are the ones who removed the bin waivers from our senior citizens and most disadvantaged.  They are also the ones that refused to support the bank guarantee scheme that protected people’s money and savings.  Worse still, one of them actually works for and supports a local T.D. in this area that had major shares in Anglo Irish Bank.  These guys have the brass neck to lecture Northsiders on our economic recovery.  Save us all from the lectures and hot air.

Finian will always challenge and fight these ‘gombeen’ politicians.  He is an Independent and votes on all issues in the Dáil as they arise.  Finian tries to do the decent thing and vote in the interest of his conscience and his constituents.  He is one of the few that stood up to and challenged the Government on many occasions in the Dáil and outside.  Finian is not pro-Government or pro any party.  Some major political parties are trying to spin this and damage Finian.  His voting record is on the public record and the local people know the truth.

Of course there are times when Finian used his vote or abstained to push local matters over the line such as Scoil Mhuire B.N.S. in Marino and recently St Brigid’s G.N.S. in Killester and Belgrove School in Clontarf.  At the moment he is using his clout as an Independent T.D. to push for the completion of Cystic Fibrosis services.  These are up-front projects and Finian makes no apology for using his clout to deliver these vital projects.  There are no hidden agendas or support for any major political party.  That is what it means to be an Independent politician.  The rest talk whereas the Independent delivers.

Deputy Finian McGrath also finds it very strange that these same politicians are attacking the man that stood up for pensioners, disabled, public servants and unemployed in the Dáil and yet run away from telling the truth or being straight with the Irish people.

The Independent Deputy will always stand up for Northsiders and expose phoney politicians that have delivered nothing on the ground.
