Deputy Finian McGrath (Ind) met senior officials today Wednesday at 3 p.m. from the Taoiseach’s Department on the Stardust Victims Fire Tragedy. He raised the following issues with John Kennedy and his team.
- An official state commemoration for Stardust families.
- The issue of a State apology as part of the healing process
- More welfare support and counselling.
- Compensation particularly when over €1 Million was spent on legal fees
- Some sort of a Community Project for the youth in our area as a mark of solidarity with the families.
Finian urged the Taoiseach to support these proposals in order to support and heal the pain of the Stardust families. He also urged that all of the 48 families be included in the whole process.
