* To ask the Minister for Health the position regarding the cystic fibrosis unit at Beaumont Hospital
(details supplied). Finian McGrath T.D.

REPLY.

Beaumont Hospital is one of the 6 specialist centres that provides services to adults with cystic fibrosis. In the 2008 Budget, a special allocation of €2.5m capital funding was provided to enable the hospital to provide facilities for ambulatory care of people with cystic fibrosis. This new facility opened on 26th October 2010 and provides a significantly enhanced service to adult patients with CF.

Speaking to over 5,000 residents last Sunday at the Wooden Bridge, Deputy Finian McGrath said he totally opposed the current proposed flood barrier and that he had raised it in the Dail during leaders questions.

Deputy Finian McGrath: Next Sunday, at 3 p.m., thousands of people will meet at the wooden bridge in Clontarf to protest about the proposed construction of an eight foot high barrier on the seafront.  This protest is being organised by Councillor Damian O'Farrell and a number of local residents.  I raise this because Dublin Bay is important to the environment, tourism and economy of the city.

I refer to the Commission's decision of 28 April 2010 relating to the setting of annual monetary limits on the use or drawdown of toner cartridges (of €2,000 for Deputies, €1,300 for Senators and €2,000 for parliamentary party offices) which came into effect from 22nd January 2010.
