As you are aware following the introduction of SI 84 of 20 10 you are now due to be paid a Parliamentary Standard Allowance [PSA]. The Miscellaneous Expense Allowance [MEA] and the Constituency Travel Allowance [CTA] were previously paid to you tax free in your salary. These allowances have ceased from the end of February as they are now part of the PSA due to be paid on the 31st March 2010.

You have already received in your salary for January and February 2010 the amounts ofMEA and CTA due for those months. The effect of the change in the way the expenses are paid means that the net amount in your salary will reduce by €625. This amount has never been taken into account for pension purposes.
