Deputy Finian McGrath has strongly attacked the silence in our society on the serious issue of mass unemployment.  "They are the forgotten ones and all politicians should focus on this huge national crisis" said McGrath.

The Northside T.D. also urged the Taoiseach to recall the Dáil in early September for a special week long debate on how to support the unemployed and create more jobs.  "It’s time for the government and the major parties to get off the fence and bang their heads together to come up with new and radical ideas to create jobs, and develop investment" said McGrath.  "There is too much pussyfooting going on while our people are suffering especially those on welfare assistance" said the North Central Independent T.D.

Finally, Deputy Finian McGrath has called on all members of the Oireachtas to support his proposal.
